The Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets (VAAFM) recently released a report that praises the “healthy and robust beekeeping industry” in Vermont. However, many Vermont beekeepers disagree with the agency’s assessment.
In response, the Vermont Beekeepers Association (VBA) published a letter questioning the accuracy of the VAAFM’s claims. As stated in the letter, “All Vermont beekeepers, including migratory beekeepers, struggle with a high degree of annual colony losses due to pests, pathogens, environmental impacts, and pesticide use.”
