Join us on April 13 for a WCB Zoom meeting!
We’ll start off with a club election to vote in WCB’s new and old officers. Next will be our speaker, Hannah Whitehead of UMass Extension, who will talk to us about the results of a research study that focused on three different queen rearing methods in a presentation titled “Roads to Royalty: Comparing Three Methods of Queen Production.”
Roads to Royalty: Comparing Three Methods of Queen Production
Hannah Whitehead (UMass Extension) will share results from a recent research project, which compared the quality of queens produced through three queen rearing methods (a traditional 10-day grafting method, an abbreviated 48-hour grafting method, and walk-away splits). This research was carried out in collaboration with two local queen breeders, and was funded by a Northeast SARE Partnership Grant.
