Our next Windham County Beekeepers meeting will be at the History Fair on August 15 in Newfane, on the historic Newfane Common. WCB will have a booth, an observation hive, honey tasting and members will be able to sell their own honey. The fair is from 10:00 to 4:00, setup is from 8:00 to 10:00. This is a community education event. All are invited to come and help out.
We’re also doing membership outreach. We’ll be selling raffles for the beautiful quilt with a bee design that was donated to us. The dimensions are 57 1/2 x 68 1/4; it fits a twin or daybed and lies on top of a double bed or the back of a couch. Raffle tickets are a $20.00 donation per ticket. Secure your chance to own this one-of-a-kind quilt.
The Bondville Fair is on August 28-30th. There are opportunities for beekeepers to enter their honey to be judged by fair staff. Mary Beth (marybeth.adelson@gmail.com) is the contact for this. We will not have a booth, or be selling honey at this event.
A friendly reminder: The club needs your support to pay for our speakers, meeting venues and operating costs. If you are not a member, join us! Individuals pay $10 a year to join WCB; families pay $15. Check out the Windham County Beekeepers website for more information. Let us know if you’d like to add something to any of the site pages.
Another reminder: Our club has a manual extractor that members can borrow. Contact Diane at greenfireherbs@gmail.com.
